Executive Women launch programs for Business School Students

 

March 2008: The Executive Women of Goizueta, rooted in Emory University’s Goizueta Business, was founded by Sarah O’Brien, a recent graduate of the business school who as a student assessed her executive MBA classmates and noted only ten of the sixty students were women. Realizing the value of exposure to executive-level women, especially for female business school students, O’Brien leveraged her relationships with two other female classmates and reached out to women in the business community to create Executive Women of Goizueta. “We want the group to be about women empowering women,” explained O’Brien in the Winter 2004 Goizueta Magazine. The group decided that the moniker Executive Women of Goizueta would help brand the group with the top-ranked business school and as an alumnae organization.
