February 1, 2007 - National Financial Partners Corp. (NYSE: NFP), a national network of 170 independent firms, specializing in corporate and executive benefits, life insurance, wealth management, and financial planning acquired Balser Companies, a trusted advisor, reliable recordkeeper, insurance broker and broker-dealer, with the technology platform to handle robust systems for Fortune 500 caliber benefit plan administration. Being part of a network of financial firms is “old hat” for Balser , because it partners with other firms to assist their clients in corporate Finance, HR and Benefits to deliver cutting-edge retirement and insurance solutions, serving as a "back office" or specialist. Balser offers state-of-the-art benefits administration, converting plans from inadequate 401(k) platforms and carrier legacy systems to custom, web-based administrative solutions, and providing support through seasoned plan managers, its call center, and technology. Fred Hill, William Folan and Richard Wehmeier are named executive vice presidents and principal managing directors of the firm.
